They came from a distant world. Squid-like extraterrestrials determined on colonizing the Earth. When their first spaceship arrived, they were met with heavy resistance by Gamera. The guardian of the planet destroyed the ship and the hostile aliens within, but mere moments before the craft exploded, it requested a second ship be dispatched. Taking on the form of humans, the squid-like invaders kidnapped two young children and held them hostage. Forcing Gamera to obey their every command, they sent the mighty terrapin on a rampage across Japan.
However, the boys managed to escape. Without them, the invaders couldn’t control the huge turtle. He turned on them and destroyed their ship, but the war for the Earth was only just beginning. The handful of aliens removed their human suits and combined. Together, they formed a tentacled colossus. Viras challenged the reptilian hero and used its mighty tentacles to ensnare him. However, the friend of all children fought back valiantly. He made a fool out of the squid, but the fun and games soon ended when Viras leaped into the air and came down into Gamera’s mid-section! The spear-like top of the alien impaled the guardian. Unable to escape, Gamera activated his jet boosters and flew into the upper atmosphere where the low temperatures began to freeze Viras. In just a few seconds, the hostile invader was frozen solid. As Gamera flipped his body over, the squid fell from his shell and dropped to its death in the ocean. The threat of the Viras aliens was permanently over.
