The Business About Fred is a short story written by Joseph Payne Brennan. It was first published in the 1975 anthology The Satyr's Head and Other Tales of Terror, edited by David A. Sutton. It was reprinted in the 1986 collection The Borders Just Beyond, in the 2008 collection The Feaster from Afar and Other Ghastly Visitants.
