Stripe is a fictional character who first appeared in the 1984 film Gremlins.
Stripe is one of the first clones spawned when water is accidentally spilled on Gizmo. He quickly took command of the other cloned mogwai and devised a plan to trick Billy Peltzer to feed them after midnight.
Overnight Stripe and the other spawns entered a pupa stage. Soon after Stripe and the others hatched. Most of the other mogwai were killed by Billy and his mother but Stripe escaped and jumped into the pool at the YMCA. The multitude of mogwai spawned from the event brought havoc upon the town of Kingston Falls.
Billy and Kate Beringer trapped most the mogwai in the movie theater and blew them up. But again, Stripe managed to escape. Billy and Kate followed him into a department store where Stripe and Billy squared off, badly injuring Billy. Just as Stripe was about to clone himself again in the mall fountain, Gizmo managed to open the shades, casting sunlight on Stripe, killing him.
