Sanda, performed by Yû Sekida, is a kaiju character who first appeared in the film The War of the Gargantuas,
Sanda lives in the Japanese Alps evidenced by his giant footprints in the snow. A second giant named Gaira who had been attacking ships was on the run from the military. Sanda assisted Gaira, hiding him in the mountains. Once Sanda finds out Gaira had been eating people, he attacks him. The two fight at sea until the military drops bombs on them and a volcano under their feet erupts, seemingly killing them both.
