Roger DeMarco, played by Scott Reiniger, is a character in the film Dawn of the Dead.
Roger is a police SWAT officer who, along with his team, raid a low-income housing project, whose mostly black and Latino tenants are defying the martial law of delivering their dead to the National Guard. The tenants and the officers exchange gunfire as the officers try to gain entry. Roger unsuccessfully tries to restrain Wooley, a brutal and racist trooper, after he maniacally kills several unarmed civilians. Wooley is shot dead by an officer from another unit, Peter Washington.
Roger and Peter clean out the zombified dead from the housing complex's basement. Afterward, Roger invites Peter to join him, Stephen Andrews and Fran Parker to leave the city. The four of them travel in a helicopter in search of a safe place. When they run low on fuel, they have to land at a rural gas station where Roger fills the tank. After several zombies attack, Roger kills most of them except for one that has the top of its head lopped off by the helicopter blades.
They leave again and find a mall where they decide they can fortify and stay. Roger and Peter clear out the zombies and fortify the entrances by parking box trucks against the doors. Unfortunately Roger is bitten a couple times by zombies. Before long Roger suffers severe pain and is slowly dying.
Before he dies, he tells Peter he will try not to come back. But after he died, he wakes up as a zombie and Peter shoots him to put him out of his misery.
