The Rakshasa is a fictional character in the television series Kolchak: The Night Stalker episode Horror in the Heights.
The Rakshasa are maneaters in Hindu mythology. It began to stalk a Jewish neighborhood, killing and devouring its elderly residents by using its ability to project the victim's most trusted loved ones and friends. Since the Jewish population was thought to have been the target of the attacks, it is assumed the killer is anti-Semitic and the partially eaten bodies were blamed on rats.
Once Carl Kolchak investigates the series of strange murders, he discovers the culprit is actually the Rakshasa.
