Lamia

Lamia is a demon featured in the film Drag Me to Hell.

Lamia terrorizes Christine Brown after a gypsy lade named Sylvia Ganush tears a button from Christine's shirt and curses it due to Christine evicting Sylvia from her home.

Before long Christine notices a shadowy presence following her around. She's told by Rham Jas that Lamia will terrorize her for three days before dragging her to hell. He suggests she make a sacrifice. She reluctantly sacrifices her kitten to no avail. She also attempts a seance that backfires. Finally when told she can give the cursed button away and transfer the curse, even to a dead person, she seals the button in an envelope and places it Ganush's grave.

After her fortunes seem to turn for the better, her boyfriend Clay Dalton hands her an envelope that was in his car. She had buried the wrong envelope and the curse was still on her. She backed away from Clay and fell onto a subway rail. Fiery demonic arms reached through the ground and dragged her to hell. Clay still had the button which means the curse passed onto him.
