Jacob Grimm

Jacob Ludwig Carl Grimm (January 4, 1785 - September 20, 1863) was a German author, linguist, philologist, jurist, and folklorist. He is known as the discoverer of Grimm's law of linguistics, the co-author of the monumental Deutsches Wörterbuch, the author of Deutsche Mythologie, and the editor of Grimms' Fairy Tales. He was the older brother of Wilhelm Grimm, of the literary duo the Brothers Grimm.

While the Brothers Grimm stories are fairy tales, they have inspired countless horror adaptations.
