Kalabar, played by Robin Thomas, is a character in the film Halloweentown.
Kalabar is the Mayor of Halloweentown. He hates humans and dislikes the fact that Gwen Piper left him for a human, yet the Cromwell magic remains as powerful as ever. At first, he was in the form of a black creature who's afraid of sunlight but reveals his true identity when he tries to convince the citizens of Halloweentown to join him to retake what's rightfully theirs, i.e. the mortal world.
He dies at the end of the first film when the Cromwell family members join to vanquish him. His son, Kal is the main villain in the second part. He appears in Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge during several flashbacks to the previous film.
