Evan Ross

Evan Ross is the recurring character who appears throughout the Monster Blood series in the R. L. Stine Goosebumps series. In the adaptation of Monster Blood in the Goosebumps television series, he is played by Kyle Labine.

In Monster Blood, Evan is forced to stay with his Aunt Kathryn while his parents look for a house. He bought a can labeled Monster Blood. It was a cool slimy substance that was fun to play with. But before long, he noticed the slime had grown in size. Eventually it was massive. His dog, Trigger, who had eaten some grew as well.

Evan discovers that Aunt Kathryn's cat, Sarabeth is actually a witch who cursed Aunt Kathryn causing her to become senile, and the Monster Blood to grow. Only when Sarabeth was consumed by the Monster Blood did the slime and Trigger both return to normal size.

In Monster Blood II, Evan is made fun of by his classmates who don't believe his story regarding the events of Monster Blood, especially Conan. He brings the Monster Blood container to school in order to prove his story but quickly changes his mind after it begins to grow. He tries to bury it but when he goes back later to retrieve it, he notices it's gone. He suspects Conan saw him bury and dug it up himself. He and his friend Andy sneak to Conan's house and find the can. Andy wants to feed some of it to Cuddles, the class guinea pig, but Evan refuses. Andy feeds him some anyway and before long Cuddles goes on a rampage around the school.

Evan is forced to eat some of the Monster Blood himself in order to fight Cuddles and stop him from terrorizing the school. Just as Cuddles got the upper hand, both he and Evan began shrinking. The Monster Blood had reached its expiration date and lost its power.

In Monster Blood III, Evan and Andy babysit his cousin named Kermit. Kermit is a brat who likes to prank Evan and Andy by creating nasty concoctions in the kitchen. Evan and Andy try to repay him by using Monster Blood but Andy accidentally swallows some. Soon Andy is giant sized and the police try to capture him thinking he's an Alien.

Andy and Kermit try to create a mix that will shrink him to normal size, but it makes him grow blue feathers. They try another concoction that gives him hiccups. Finally a third mix shrinks him, but it's too strong, causing him to shrink way too small.

In Monster Blood IV, while again babysitting for Kermit, both Kermit and Conan are picking on Evan. Evan wants to pay them back, so he brings a can of Monster Blood. When he opens it, the Monster Blood is blue instead of green. Before long, the Monster Blood turns into miniature monsters that multiply and insatiably drink water, becoming meaner.

The monsters torment the boys and eventually want to capture them so they can get the water from their bodies. Eventually the monsters become so mean that they turn on each other, eventually consuming one another. Once that was all over, Conan ate some of the monster blood, causing him to turn meaner and multiply.

Even also makes an appearance in Return to Horrorland where he tells the other Goosebumps survivors his history with Monster Blood.
