Doctor Michael Brewer is a character from the book Stay Out of the Basement by R. L. Stine. In the television adaptation, he is played by Judah Katz.
While conducting experiments for the University, Dr. Brewer accidentally cut his hand and spliced his DNA with a super-plant he was experimenting with. As a result, the plant took over and replaced him. A near-perfect duplicate was created and was living his life while imprisoning the original Brewer.
If not for the persistence of his children, Margaret and Casey, he would have gotten away with it. Instead they destroy the duplicate with plant poison and rescue their real father.
