Dr. A. Marek, played by Hrant Alianak is a character in the television adaptation of the R. L. Stine novella Stay Out of the Basement.
Dr. Marek is a colleague of Dr. Michael Brewer. However, when Dr. Brewer is replaced by his plant duplicate, Dr. Marek disappears.
Mrs. Brewer find him later, bound and gagged in a closet. Meanwhile the children, Margaret and Casey, are in the basement and find the real Dr. Brewer. The children destroy the clone with weed killer and free the real Dr. Brewer.
At the end, Marek thanks Mrs. Brewer for rescuing him and thank the children for destroying the clone.
