Dr. James Harvey, played by Bill Pullman, is a character who first appeared in the 1995 film Casper. He later appeared in the cartoon The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper, voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
Dr. Harvey began to obsess over contacting ghosts after the death of his wife. When the opportunity arises to live in a haunted house, Whipstaff Manor, he and his daughter, Kat move in. Almost immediately they run into Casper the friendly ghost. However, Casper's uncles Stretch, Fatso, and Stinkie take up an interest in Dr. Harvey.
