Death in 1936 is a poem written by Joey Froehlich. It was first published in the 1988 magazine Violent Legends. It was reprinted by Gothic Press in Froehlich's chapbook collection The Fuel of Tender Years.
It is a tribute to legendary pulp writer Robert E. Howard. The poem is based off of Howard's suicide at the age of 30 that was the result of the impending death of his mother.
