Artie, played by Owen Hughes, is a character in the film Sleepaway Camp.
Artie is the camp cook at Camp Arawak. He is revealed to be a sleazebag who looks at the arriving children like sex objects.
When Angela Baker doesn't eat her food at mealtime, counselor Ronnie Angelo takes her to the kitchen to ask Artie if he can help her find something she might like. Artie takes her to the isolated pantry and starts coming on to her. Before he can assault her, Ricky Thomas prevents him from doing so and the two run away.
Later when Artie is boiling a large stockpot full of water an unseen person shoves him forward when he's balancing on a chair. He falls and pulls the boiling water onto himself. His skin blisters and swells as he writhes in pain.
An ambulance takes him away and camp owner Mel Costic deems it an accident and promotes Ben to head cook.
