Andre Delambre, played by David Hedison, is a character in the 1958 film The Fly.
Andre Delabre is a scientist who invented a way to teleport via a matter-transporter invention. He is able to transfer small items and eventually wants to test it on himself. When doing so a fly flew into the pod. When he transferred himself to the other pod his DNA mixed with the fly's.
He desperately attempts to find the fly after the transfer in order to reverse the damage. Unfortunately they are unable to find it in time and he starts losing his humanity. He asks his wife, Hélène to help him destroy himself. After destroying his notes and his machines, he goes to a warehouse where she helps him crush his head and arm in a hydraulic press.
