112 Ocean Avenue is a large Dutch Colonial house located in Amityville, New York.
In November 1974, Ronald DeFeo, Jr. murdered his entire family one-by-one with a rifle while they slept. He claimed a voice told him to do it.
In December 1975, The Lutz family moved into the home. They only stayed 28 days, claiming the home was haunted. The book The Amityville Horror written by Jay Anson swept the nation and in 1979 an film adaptation was made. There have been multiple books and dozens of films since.
